5Hi! My name is Mrs. Wagner and this is my 14th year working at Hawthorn Elementary South. I began working as an instructional assistant in the ESL department before taking on a long term substitute job teaching first grade. Then I taught first grade for one year and second grade for eight years. This is my third year in 4th grade!
I grew up in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, which is a western suburb of Milwaukee. I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007. In 2008 my husband and I moved down to Illinois where I began working as an assistant and he began teaching high school chemistry at Cary Grove High School.
In May of 2014 I earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL endorsement from Concordia University Chicago.
In my free time I enjoy reading and traveling. I have two boys, Aaron and Alex, and enjoy spending time and playing outside with them and traveling around the country.
